Abstract:
The Environment Agency is committed at the local level, to a programme of Local Environment Agency Plans (LEAPs) in order to produce a local agenda of integrated action for environmental protection and improvement. The Agency's South Area of the North West Region is covered by seven LEAP areas: Croal/lrwell, Lower Mersey, Mersey/Bollin, Roch/lrk/Medlock, Sankey/Glaze, Tame/Goyt/Etherow and Weaver/Dane. This is the Local Environment Agency Plan (LEAP) for the Croal/lrwell catchments which will enable the Agency to Agency to plan for the future wellbeing of the local environment of this catchment. 26 issues of environmental protection are discussed in this report.
