Title: Development of marine phytoplankton methodology and quality assurance procedures : second draft
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
Professor J.D. Dodge of Royal Holloway College and Algal Associates was commissioned to write this report in October 1995. The objectives of the project were to assess and develop an approach to marine phytoplankton sampling and analysis for a variety of needs. Identify and compare the available sampling and analytical techniques, assess their efficiency and comparability. This will enable the selection of
suitable methods for use in the NRA Anglian Region for the production of robust data using standard, tested methods. The study also sought to develop suitable quality control procedures for all
aspects so that the data will be checked giving increased confidence in the findings of the surveys.
The methodology was to include discussions with key NRA staff and a review of the available literature, NRA staff and others contacted are listed in Appendix I.
