Title: Brue and Axe : action plan
Author: Environment Agency
Document Type: Monograph
The catchment of the Brue and Axe includes a major part of the Somerset Levels and Moors. The rivers and tributaries make an important contribution to the rural economy through agriculture and an equal contribution to the urban economy through public water supply, effluent disposal, waste disposal, recreation and tourism. This Action Plan sets out the actions that the Environment Agency and other organizations plan to carry out over the next five years. The actions address problems that arise from the pressure on the environment and seek new opportunities to enhance it. Other solutions will be looked at in a longer term perspective over a wider area.
