Title: The Upper Nene catchment management plan : final plan : August 1994
Author: National Rivers Authority Anglian Region
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
Catchment management involves the NRA working with many people and organisations and using its authority to ensure rivers, lakes, coastal and underground waters are protected and where possible improved, for the benefit of present and future generations. This plan describes our vision for the catchment, identifies problems and issues and proposes actions to resolve them. The plan also forms a framework for promoting two key aspects of environmental management: land use planning and water quality objectives. In the context of Catchment Management Plans the long term is 10 years, the medium term 5 years and the short term 1 to 2 years. The life of this plan is 5 years after which it will be reviewed. The identified actions will be subject to ongoing monitoring.
