Author: Susan Wattam
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
During the reporting period 571 sites were routinely monitored to assess the quality of rivers with quality objectives. 52 sites failed to meet their objectives, representing 312.93 km of watercourse or 8.2% of the total. However, 328 sites, representing 2022 km (53%), achieved a class better than their objective. Table 2 details the reaches in each area with their objectives and achievements for the period. Table 2(a) is a matrix showing the total length of river in each class achieved against the objectives. Table 2(b) shows the total length of watercourse which achieved it objective (or above), and table 2(c) shows the total length of watercourse achieving each class, regardless of objective.
