Test and Itchen catchment

Definition (http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/static/documents/Research/Catchment_summary_-_Test_and_Itchen_-_final.pdf)

The Test and Itchen catchment can be broadly split into two distinct areas in terms of its geology and character. The rivers and their tributaries in the upper catchment flow over chalk through countryside and dispersed settlements. The geology in the lower catchment turns to sand and clays and the water bodies become smaller, urbanised and more numerous. (EA)
