Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
The objectives of this report are: to establish methodology for the preparation of monodisperse haematite particles, suitable for use (perhaps radioactivity labelled) as tracer colloids in field experiments at the Drigg array; to characterize natural groundwater colloids from the Drigg site, by microelectrophoresis, particle counting (dark-field light microscope), transmission electron microscopy and bacterial enumeration; and to examine colloid migration in sand columns in order to obtain information for planning field studies.
