Title: Public water supplies in the NRA - Wessex Region : initial report 1990
Author: National Rivers Authority Wessex Region
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
The National Rivers Authority (NRA) has a duty under Section 143(2) of the Water Act 1989 to collate and publish information concerning the demand for water and the provision of water resources. This particular document reports the public water supply situation within the Wessex Region at the outset of water privatisation. In the NRA Wessex Region there are five supply undertakings which supply the overwhelmingly largest proportion of water to the public. From these suppliers the NRA has sought information about water consumption, available resources, future demands and intentions to meet those demands. Population data has been supplied by the County Councils in the region. Water supply data has been provided by the individual supply undertakings and the NRA's role has been one of presenting these in a consistent format. The conclusions arising from this exercise are those of the NRA and may not
coincide with those of any one of the constituent supply undertakings.
