Abstract:
The principal objective of the project was to establish the effective duration of catchment liming treatments to mitigate stream acidification. This is a key factor determining the economics and feasibility of employing this form of river remediation in upland Britain. The focus of the project was a three year continuation of studies of experimental treatments in the upper River Tywi in mid Wales.
