Abstract:
This is the Uses of the Water Environment report from the Environment Agency. This is the Factsheet Number 6 in the Environment Agency educational series, under Stepping Stones 6. The report is aimed at providing information for people interested in the subject of water uses for housing, Farming, Industry, recreation, fishing, navigation, water abstraction, waste disposal and the role of the Environment Agency. The section on farming focuses on water pollution by farming such fertilizers, pesticides, run-off, irrigation and overgrazing. Finally Under the role of the Environment Agency section are included roles the EA is responsible for flood defence and conservation.
