This IPC Guidance Note is issued by the Environment Agency as one of a series of guidance notes for processes prescribed for Integrated Pollution Control (IPC) in Regulations made under Section 2 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (EPA90). It is a guide on techniques and standards relevant to petrochemical and other largc-volume organic chemical manufacture. This Note provides brief descriptions of selected processes, best available techniques for pollution prevention and control, and the levels of release achievable by their use. Economic information on the relevant sectors of the chemical industry is included.
