Abstract:
This document is the consultation report of South Cumbria LEAP. It is dived in two parts. The purpose of the part 1 of the LEAP is to introduce you to the role of the Agency and the role of Local Environment Agency Plans (LEAP'S). There will also be a brief description of the area covered by the plan. The principal section of this part of the plan is the issues and option for their resolution. This is the hub of the plan and will form the focus for consultation. In addition we will outline some protection policies and partnerships which the Agency are involved in. Part 1 contains seven sections: "vision for the Local Environment", the Environment Agency", "the LEAP process and the purpose of consultation", "Sustainable Development and Biodiversity", "the South Cumbria LEAP area", "issues and options for their resolution", and "protection and partnership". Part 2 contains supporting information on the environment of the LEAP area. It focuses on the uses activities and physical resources of the area in relation to the work of the Agency. This "analysis of the local environment has been helpful in identifying issues outlined in Part 1 of the plan. The part two contains two sections: "uses, activities and resources" and "state of the local Environment".
