FBA North East and Yorkshire Regional Group

The north east and Yorkshire regional group was formed in 2007, maintains a mailing list of ~250 individuals and meets once or twice per year. It is open to anyone with an interest in the ecology and biology of streams, rivers, ponds, wetlands, lakes and canals, including academics, consultants, government agencies, planners and specialist interest groups. The aims of the groups are to: increase awareness of the range of freshwater ecology work being undertaken in the north east and Yorkshire region, provide opportunities for discussion among a spectrum of practitioners, and act as an impetus for future collaborative work and knowledge exchange between different parties. Past meetings have been held in Leeds, Hull, Durham and Newcastle, and in 2010 we hosted the FBA Annual General Meeting. The group welcomes offers to host future meetings.
