Net Limitation Orders

The Environment Agency has powers to make Net Limitation Orders under the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975 (as amended). These orders are confirmed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Net Limitation Orders are used to regulate salmon and sea trout net fisheries in England. Each order limits the number of licences for fishing with nets that may be issued in any specific fishery for up to 10 years. (gov.uk)
