Title: Kentish Stour catchment management plan : action plan
Author: National Rivers Authority Southern Region
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
Catchment Management Plans concentrate on topics where the National Rivers Authority has a direct interest and the plans are focused mainly on the river corridor, although some functions such as water resource management and pollution control inevitably extend over the whole catchment area. Whilst they lack the status of statutory planning documents, it is hoped that Catchment Plans will make a positive input to the Town and Country planning process. Catchment Planning Consultation Reports are produced as a vehicle for wide public consultation about catchment issues. This Final Report has been prepared in the light of comment received. The Kentish Stour Catchment Consultation Report was published in October 1994 and launched at a Public Meeting in Canterbury. Representations were received from organisations and from fifty three individuals. This action plan is formed of eight sections, the first is the NRA vision for the catchment, the second explains the catchment management process, the third section describes the Kentish Stour catchment and the fourths details interactions with development plans. Sections five, six and seven detail catchment statistics, issues and management proposals respectively. The final section is on the action programme for the catchment.
