Title: Proposed scheme of abstraction charges 1993-94
Author: National Rivers Authority
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
The National Rivers Authority (NRA) proposes to introduce a new Scheme of Abstraction Charges from 1st April 1993. The new Scheme will provide a consistent basis for charges across England and Wales. It will replace the existing Scheme which was based on ten different schemes inherited from the former Regional Water Authorities, but will retain rates of charge related to the NRA's water resources expenditure within each of its regions. In preparing the proposed new Scheme, the NRA has consulted widely with abstractors, their representatives and the NRA's own regional statutory advisory committees, whose members represent local interests and concerns. The new Scheme will apply to all existing holders of water abstraction licences and to those who apply for and are granted licences in the future. The introduction of the proposed new Scheme has been announced in the national press. Details of the new Scheme and proposed rates of charge for 1993/94 are given in this document, but should you require further information then please write to the address shown on page 16.
