Abstract:
This Report records the NRAs activities during 1993-94, in fulfilment of its Recreation and Conservation duties. It is produced in compliance with the Code of Practice on Conservation, Access and Recreation, under Section 18 of the Water Resources Act 1991. In drafting the Report, we have taken account of guidance notes issued by the Department of the Environment (DoE) Standing Committee on the Code of Practice on Conservation, Access and Recreation, which state that it should provide the Secretary of State, the general public and other agencies with information about NRA Conservation and Recreation activities. This is the first year that the NRA has produced such an annual report. It provides information about NRA owned sites, site management methods and projects undertaken or commenced during the financial year, beginning in April 1993. Research and Development projects, from which much new knowledge is derived, are also included. In subsequent years it will be possible to assess any changes in recreation and conservation activities.
