Abstract:
This National Rivers Authority leaflet provides information about fishery byelaws in the North and South Wessex areas 1992. It contains section on interpretation; aplication of byelaws; annual close season for fishing for salmon; annual close season for fishing for non-migratory trout; annual close season for fishing for migratory trout; weekly close time for netting for salmon and migratory trout; use of instruments for taking fish; keepnets, keepsacks and tunnels; marking and numbering of nets boats and traps; carrying of nets; minimum rod lenght; limit of number of rods in use; unattended rods and lines; prohibition of taking undersized trout and grayling; returns; use of lures or baits with rod and line; limit on the number of fish which may be permanently removed from the water; prohibition on use of lead weights; placing and use of fixed engines and finally, revocation of existing byelaws.
