Abstract:
This document analyses the Ure and Ouse LEAP consultation report. The Swale, Ure and Ouse area covers a geographically very diverse landscape from the protected, designated uplands of the Yorkshire Dales National Park through the City of York to the Port of Selby. This diversity in landscape and heritage attracts many visitors to the area each year, whether this be for recreational activities in the National Park or simply to enjoy the pleasures of the City of York. This report is divided in two parts. Part I introduces the Environment Agency; examines the Swale, Ure and Ouse, area in tenns of natural and physical features; highlights many; of the partnerships which exist to protect, our environment; identifies a number of issues and proposals for action to make a difference to the area. Part I is split into four sections: Section 1: Introduction; Section 2: The Swale, Ure and Ouse Area; Section 3: Protection Through Partnership; and Section 4: Issues and Proposals. Part II is split into two sections: Section 5 identifies uses and activities which are prevalent in the Swale, Ure and Ouse area and Section 6 seeks to measure the environmental quality of the area against ,identified targets (if available).
